Shannon Clifton's Books

Shannon Clifton has chosen to forgo her right to anonymity in this critically acclaimed, profoundly dark yet uplifting book. Subjected to rape by her father from the age of six, she became pregnant at eleven and again at thirteen.

He subsequently abducted her, evading capture as authorities closed in on him. Shannon’s narrative is not for the faint of heart; she provides harrowing accounts of the sexual, physical, and psychological abuse she endured, which included being burned with an iron, struck with a hammer, and even stabbed.

Her father claimed, “it was something all fathers do with their daughters,” a notion she initially accepted. Shannon penned this book to begin to comprehend her tumultuous childhood and is currently pursuing a degree in Forensic Psychology to gain insight into the nature of evil.

“It was a painful journey,” she reflects, “but it was worthwhile because I aspire to assist others who have faced similar adversities.”
