Submissions

Please consider the following points before deciding to submit your work to us:

• Fortis is a small independent publisher and we do not pay an advance, nor can we guarantee that your book will be bought by bookshops.
• We expect our authors to be pro-active in the marketing of their book (more about this below).

However, because Fortis is a small independent publisher, you will have a personal relationship with the team. We will know who you are.

• In these times of social media access, you as the author, are the best person to sell your book. Your readers want to know you and they want to have personal access to you, they do not want to read your publisher’s marketing blurb. Fortis’s marketing team will hold show you, step-by-step, what to do and how to do it and we will do all the background stuff to support you.
• Fortis makes comprehensive use of social media advertising and marketing campaigns for our titles.
• We pay royalties every 6 months, which is the industry standard and our royalty profit split is 60% in favour of the author.
