Peter E. Saunders's Books

Peter Saunders grew up in a deeply religious Catholic household in London, where he experienced significant oppression and abuse. In his adult life, lacking adequate support, he established a prominent national charity dedicated to assisting adults who suffered abuse during their childhood.

For many years, he engaged in a struggle with the Church over its ongoing denials and efforts to conceal instances of abuse within its ranks worldwide. Peter was candid about his opinions and was taken aback when he received an invitation to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican in July 2014.

The encounter was cordial, and he was invited to join the Pope’s child protection commission; however, this led to a series of unusual and challenging repercussions. His interactions with high-ranking government officials, United Nations representatives, senior church leaders, and a continuous media presence provided Peter with a powerful platform.

This visibility was not embraced by all, and he inevitably faced opposition from formidable and malevolent forces.
